Friends of Wildwood Cemetery – PA is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization (EIN 33-4449241), separate from Wildwood Cemetery Co., dedicated to preserving, restoring, and celebrating Wildwood Cemetery in Williamsport, PA.

Mission

The preservation, restoration, beautification, and public appreciation of Wildwood Cemetery in Williamsport, Pennsylvania.

Vision

A Wildwood Cemetery whose history, monuments, and grounds are actively cared for by the community they belong to — well-documented, welcoming to visitors, and passed on intact to future generations.

What We Do

  • Preserve — volunteer training in monument cleaning and repair, closing the gap left by markers with no family to request care.
  • Research — digitizing and preserving thousands of historical documents and photographs, from original architecture plans to century-old deeds.
  • Share — promoting the cemetery’s events and history, and securing grants and support on its behalf.

Upcoming Opportunities

From cleaning days to guided tours, there’s usually something coming up. See what’s on the calendar or tell us how you’d like to help and we’ll reach out when the next opportunity fits.

Recent Work

Friends of Wildwood volunteer groups have turned out for cleaning days on the grounds — including a recent effort with over a dozen volunteers to begin cleaning all 192 Civil War veterans’ graves in Wildwood’s Civil War Circle.
